New Professor At Manchester University

From September this year the university will have a new part time professor of economics. She is Diane Coyle.

She will be lecturing undergraduates and of course working with fellow academics and policy makers.  She is already very well connected with a CV boasting a PhD from harvard, vice chair on the BBC trust and national newspaper journalism. In addition she sat on the competition commission for 8 years.

She has published books and is working on a new approach to the learning and teaching of economics for undergraduates.

The university is very pleased with their new appointment as issued a press release on the back of it.

So her part time role will leave plenty of opportunity for her to continue on all her other activities.  It seems portfolio careers are a possibility but only for the ‘lucky’ who manage to get it sorted.

I wonder if she will find the time to watch either Manchester United or Man City next season. I am sure the university will be able to get her tickets!   Either way good luck to her in her new job.
